Grenada Introduces Mandatory Interviews

08/01/2023

In a bid to strengthen its Citizenship by Investment program and ensure the highest level of due diligence, Grenada has taken a significant step by introducing mandatory interviews for all applicants aged 17 and above. This new measure, set to take effect from September 1st, 2023, aims to further enhance the integrity of the program and assess applicants thoroughly before granting citizenship.

While this change is expected to bring added transparency and security, it may also entail additional fees, referred to as Interview Fees, for all applications falling under this requirement.

It is important to note that the implementation of the mandatory interview process is not retroactive. Ongoing applications and those to be submitted between the present date and August 31st, 2023, will not be subject to the interview requirement. However, applicants whose submissions fall on or after September 1st will be expected to undergo the interview process as a part of their application evaluation.

By incorporating mandatory interviews into the application process, the Grenadian government seeks to ascertain the legitimacy and credibility of each applicant, ensuring that the program continues to attract individuals who are genuinely interested in contributing positively to the country’s development.

As the effective date approaches, prospective applicants should be prepared for this new interview requirement and consider the potential interview fees as they plan their journey towards obtaining citizenship in Grenada.
